To be more thorough in my answer: A KX170B was a decent radio in the 70's. It's an old, out of date design. Repair parts are non existent. It's Re: KX170B failure. The frequency stability rule was anything that wasn't certified to meet a stability of +- 3 parts per million over its Michel MX385 aviation radio with bad active nav display.
